For Sale: 1989 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in Richmond , Texas for sale in Richmond, TX

1 of 49
Vehicle Description 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am Pace Car This car is number 679 of only 1,555 produced and has 13,200 original miles.
I bought it from the daughters of the original owner in November 2018 with 11,700 miles and have added 1,500 since.
The car is in mint condition and runs, shifts, and tracks right.
A volume of interesting documentation is included as is the Pontiac Trans Am 20th Anniversary package.
The history includes the typical purchase orders, window stickers and the like, but also includes numerous other details attesting to the original owner's obsession with the car.
Included are an affidavit from the initiating dealer to Pontiac specifying that, yes indeedy, they wanted a GTA built with a six cylinder.
Factory build records, transportation details to and from PAS in California, PAS line and quality assurance checklists are included, plus much more.
There are even a few Polaroids the owner took of the finished car being unloaded at the dealer.
Looking further through the history, the previous owner ran a time of 13.
68 seconds in April 1990.
A follow up time slip in 1993 has an elapsed time of 12.
84.
The engine and compartment appear stock other than a K&N air filter and I was unable to get details on any modifications from the daughter.
Digging around, there is a PromPaq ECM module in the passenger kick panel.
Additionally, there is a keyed switch under the driver's dash that has 5 positions, (see photo gallery).
Since there were no instructions, I quickly found the kill switch and valet positions.
Not knowing which other positions were for performance or normal driving, I found the position I liked best.
The car is a hoot to drive and I personally don't see a need to change anything.
A box with 6-7 AC Delco oil filters came with the car and I used one at purchase and one just recently.
The car was sitting on its original OEM tires when purchased so I upgraded to Nitto NT 555R Drag Radials sized 245/50/R16.
I'm retired and am downsizing so it's time for a new home.
I haven't taken it to the track, but with the sticky tires, I'd imagine it would run mid 12s.
Why not buy a mint condition rocket ship that will only appreciate in value? Located in Richmond Texas, a suburb of Houston.
